Rod Madden has been central to Thompson Morris's strategic direction, expansion efforts and long-term growth strategy. 

In a career spanning nearly 40 years, Rod has amassed extensive management experience in all aspects of real estate development, including land acquisition, entitlement, horizontal and vertical development, asset management and asset disposition of a multitude of products, including single family subdivisions, condominiums, multi-family, retail strip centers, industrial buildings and office buildings. Rod’s experience rivals any in the industry.

In 1972, Rod received his real estate license and began his career in the industry.  In 1986, Rod joined Nash Phillips Copus in their commercial real estate division where he became responsible for disposition of commercial land and single family lots post development.

By June of 1987, recognizing the great value in these depressed assets, Rod started a multifaceted land acquisition and development company concentrating primarily in single-family lots as well as light commercial and multi-family development. Rod has been involved as the primary developer on more than 5,000 lots in the Austin Metro Area with total revenues on those projects in excess of $250,000,000.00, and the construction of over 350,000 sq. ft. of commercial properties.



An innovative and forward-thinking leader, Todd Madden’s career is distinguished by an extensive background that encompasses project management, finance, operations, and strategic planning across a broad base of industries that range from real estate and construction, to software and defense.

As the President of Thompson Morris, Todd Madden is responsible for the Finance, Accounting, Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, and Investor Relations teams, leveraging experience gained during a successful 15-year career in leadership positions within both public firms and entrepreneurial organizations.

Specifically, Todd spent the first few years of his business career as a financial analyst in the real estate and construction industry, where he was responsible for model generation, financial forecasting and reporting.  Leveraging his financial and management skills, Todd began a ten year career with Ultra Electronics, where he managed over $70MM in defense system deliveries to both US and international customers.  During this time, Todd gained extensive experience in negotiations, business development and project management. In 2014, he re-entered the real estate industry as the President & COO of Thompson Morris.

Todd’s passion for due diligence in acquisition and development, as well as his keen insights for enriching value, make him a valued asset to Thompson Morris.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas State University with a major in Finance.


VP of Development

Since entering the real estate profession Mr. Carroll has been involved in the development of over $2.8 billion in real estate assets within the southwest United States markets.
He has performed due diligence and market explorations throughout the United States and Europe to make himself available as a guest lecturer for real estate practicums around the globe.
Mr. Carroll specializes in the master planning, architectural programming and capital improvements of large scale projects for residential and commercial development to encourage future growth and economic sustainability while maximizing land values, one acre at a time.


Project Manager

Amy Torres works as a project manager where she focuses on property management and enhancements of properties managed by Thompson Morris. Amy oversees the daily operation and management of Thomposn Morris’s communities throughout the Austin metroplex and holds Board positions within our community Homeowner Associations.

Amy is responsible for the coordination of all facets of construction management including infrastructure construction of water, sewer, paving, gas and electric as well as commercial construction of community amenity center projects. Amy is responsible from the initial construction stages to project completion, making sure all projects are delivered on-time and within budgetary constraints.


Corporate Advisor

Ethan Wang is the Manager and Partner of Elim Capital Group, which focuses mainly on real estate investment across the United States. He is an experienced private equity manager who has funded both commercial and residential development projects in New York, Texas, Northern California and Melbourne, Australia. Ethan graduated from Zhejiang University, China, in 2005.


Financial Administrator

Caitlyn joined Thompson Morris in 2018 as the Financial Administrator and manages the day to day accounting functions for all of the partnerships and joint ventures associated with the company. 

Caitlyn’s responsibilities include budget generation and monitoring, payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payables, reconciliations, tax preparation, balance sheets, profit and loss statements.

In addition to her primary functions as Financial Manager, Caitlyn assists in the administration of human resources, IT management, facilities management, and insurance coverage.

Caitlyn graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelors in Business Administration.
